YouTube announced last month that YouTube Spaces in 7 remaining cities would not re-open which had been closed during the Covid-19 pandemic.
YouTube Spaces launched nine years ago to operate fixed physical hubs in key markets providing studio space, access to state-of-the-art production resources, education and networking events
YouTube says its plans differ from market to market for what will become of the Spaces and that the YouTubes Space is working with local teams to make the best use of each, with updates to follow soon.
Instead the focus will move to a hybrid model that combines both virtual and – once it’s safe to do so – in-person Pop-up programming as well to positively impact more new and existing creators and artists by giving them the guidance and resources they need.
