VidCon London – what happened next…

Just over a month ago the dust was still settling after VidCon London packed up and left town till next year. Needless to say quite a bit has changed in the world since due to COVID-19

The VidCon London venue itself, ExCel London has since been transformed into a 4000 bed makeshift medical centre dubbed the Nightingale Hospital to help tackle the pandemic.

Major video platform announcements were thin on the ground from VidCon London 2020 aside from Facebook introducing their Creator Studio app for mobile.

Facebook called the Creator Studio app “an evolution of and mobile complement to” the existing web platform. The app will provide data and engagement metrics — including total number of ‘one-minute views’ and ‘average minutes viewed’.

Tubular Labs also shared some interesting data on exploring viewing behaviour, engagement, affinity, platform and genre expansion across Europe during their seminar. Their handy info-graphic illustrates the key trends.
